Good food, self-service
DESCRIPTION: Everything is good here, but the chicken is a specialty. Spit roasted in-house over a hardwood fire, it appears in many dishes. Try the fajita tacos or chicken quesadilla. Enjoy the beans and rice without guilt - the beans are very tasty but not refried. Also excellent guacamole.

Yum Yum Yum
DESCRIPTION: I ate lunch here for the first time last week. Wow, I was bowled over. The menu was full of Tex-Mex items and there was lots to choose from. My meal was served hot and quickly. The seasonings that they use are perfect. I have never tasted southwestern style food that had this good of flavor. Usually I just skip eating the rice and beans at most Mexican joints. Not this time, these were not the usual refried beans and over cooked rice. The beans appeared to be some sort of pinto bean cooked and seasoned to perfection and the rice had a smokey peppery flavor. I also had chicken quesadilla's wich were over the top. Please make it a point to try this place. It's not a fancy place, so don't expect to much as far as amenities go. Just the basics here along with what might be the best Mexican food I have ever had.

DESCRIPTION: My food choice, Chicken Tacos Platter, was $4.99 and I was definitely overcharged. One of the tacos had no chicken on it and the second had less then 1 tablespoon, not even enough to taste. The beans and the rice were totally bland, where were the spices. Just unappealing. The nachos were served with four tiny cups of what I guess was salsa which I am sure was watered down tomato sauce with a drop of hot sauce in it, who did they think they could fool. Oh, and the iced tea had broccoli flavoring in it. I am not joking. Needless to say I did not eat my meal and left a critic written on a napkin over the uneaten plate. The decor was casual which is ok but casual to the point of very worn out and wobbly tables and things looked pretty messy. We got in the car and drove on to another restaurant where we had an enjoyable meal. Sorry, but it really was awful.

Best Tex-Mex Around
DESCRIPTION: Ever since my co-worker brought me to Nachomama's on our lunch hour, I've been going there at least four times a week. The food is divine. The most appealing thing to me was that all of the food is fresh, nothing is ever frozen. (they don't even have a freezer). The food is the quality of a sit down restaurant, however made quickly and half the price. It has a great atmosphere and an awesome place to grab a quick, satisfying meal. Great family place too. I recommend the chicken or beef fajita platter, or the tender rotisseree cooked chicken. The guacamole and queso dip are also incredible!! Freshmade guacamole every day--awesome! I will never eat any other mexican again.

GREAT FOOD!!!
DESCRIPTION: I just went here for the first time last month, and have probably been 10 times since. I've tried a bunch of stuff; the Nacho's Grande was probably my favorite. Beef crispy tacos are also really good. It has the ambiance of a real Mexican cantina. Fast, easy and great food!!

Family's Special Occasion Favorite for over 40 years
DESCRIPTION: Our family has eaten at the Charcoal House for over 40 years. It's THE place that we think of first for those special family occasions: Graduations, birthdays, engagement announcements. It's also the first place we think of when we want a special dinner for two or four. The steaks are prime, the service is better, the drinks are generous, and you know JUST what you're getting when you plan to go there. The battered onion ring appetizers are second only to those at The Potted Steer at the Lake of the Ozarks. Three sizes of filets, one for every appetite. Mouth-wateringly tender and cooked just right. A dinner salad with the house dressing (sweet and sour vinegar) is excellent when topped with crumbled Roquefort cheese. Absolutely sinful! One COULD have a chocolatey dessert, but there are plenty of excellent after-dinner drink choices at the well-stocked bar. Ask Nick for something special. The decor hasn't changed since the last major remodelling in the '70s, but it's a comfortable place. You're greeted like a regular, which many patrons are. Enjoy!

Good food in an intimate cubbyhole
DESCRIPTION: The food was quite good, although I thought it was a bit salty, especially the greens. Also, somewhat pricey for dinner, but I'd heard that lunch is rather inexpensive. Overall, I was impressed. The place is so tiny, they had to move our table to make room for a waiting family, and so we got complementary drinks, which was very nice.

Very nice place
DESCRIPTION: The food is delicious specially the picanha that is very tasteful. The atmosphere is very friendly and the new space opened last month made it very neat. We were also lucky to watch an improvised Brazilian music.
